Kevin Magnussen set the opening day pace at 'young driver test III' as F1 action resumed on the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.

Well the thing is, Lotus isn't looking for other drivers so while I still would like it more if they would use this test for a young driver who might actually end up in an F1 race one day, for the team itself it's probably more important to keep the relationship with Renault nice and mellow...

One can complain but that's the way it is. Just happy fellow countryman Frijns got a call from Sauber based on results, eventhough it likely won't be enough to get him in a race seat...but that's the way it goes. It's a rich man's sport, always has been, always will be.

the "pay-driver" tendency in F1 will make the sport much less atractive sooner than later. Hope it will stop eventually before it is to late

As for "pay-drivers", well let them race the worst cars in the field and let's hope that the real talented drivers find a seat in the competitive cars.
After all, F1 is all about the best category of motorracing in the world, isn't it!
