F1 » Alguersuari: Vettel has more to lose than Alonso

Jaime Alguersuari: Vettel shouldn't lose it [the title], but he could. All Alonso can do is win, because it already looks like he shouldn't

Now we only need to hear what other proven multiple world champions like Brundle, Herbert, Benson or Ant (the more british has beens or never beens with more sour grapes the more objective of course, hehe) and our wednesday is saved.

Brundle is still sour at Schumi and lets his frustration out at Vettel because he sees Schumi all over again.

Btw what happened to Jaimes promised drive in a midfield team next year. Not enough money to compensate for lack of talent ?

commodore. all fine here. my "reply" to googol, was just a snippet of interesting insight to vettels mind at the time. there was no way that in normal circumstances he would have thought it possible to get third, (i reckoned 7 or 8), but he still remained optimistic. that is the sort of mindset that wins championships, rather than constant moaning etc.

Alguersuari has been raving about the genius of Adrian Newey a lot recently. I bet if Alguersuari got a shot in a Newey designed car he'd really impress ... wait .. what?

Ah. Never mind then. But I bet that if a quality driver, one like, I don't know, Kimi Raikkonen, got to drive a Newey designed car, he'd win multiple WDC's. Right, Jamie?

For the benefit of those who don't know much about F1 (which seems to be a significant numbers of commenters here) Alguersuari drove a Newey designed Torro Rosso, and failed to finish in the points. Kimi drove a Newey designed McLaren for several years without winning a WDC. He did manage to come second, twice, but he had to move to Ferrari to win the championship.

Keep all that in mind while you watch Jamie try to give the credit for Seb's success to Newey.

The RB8 is a good car I would say the best all rounder of all on the grid so credit must go to the design team but those who tend to attribute Vettel's success driving the RB8 as being only down to the car are forgetting that RBR fields two RB8'S, as I always say the first and proper drivers success comparing/comparison can only be done with his team mate, it is useless saying if this or that driver is driving the RB8 he will do better than Vettel this is because this or that driver are not driving the RB8.
About the last race result, without in anyway wanting/intending to take away anything from Vettel's great drive luck was certainly with him, I don't think that he would have finished higher then sixth without the two safety cars and the number of cars that did not finish the race.

The number of cars which retired in AbD was average. About half a dozen cars fail to finish most races - see Spa this year, or Monza, or Valencia, or Singapore, or Japan. It's ignorant at best to suggest otherwise.

The first safety car resulted in Vettel losing all the places he'd made up and starting from the back again.

You're a hater, that's all.
