Whitmarsh, as always wants people to believe that he is the smartest guy in the room. Perez is a good driver and all but lets not get ahead of ourselves Marty!

The bigger question I have is that Perez whole reason for even being in F1 was because of his nationality and relationship with Telmex mogul (richest guy on earth!) Carlos Slim! So now that he is moving to a Vodafone sponsored team what happens to all that backing? Surely you cant have two separate telecom companies on the car? Guttierez will likely be the next recipient of Slims endless supply of money I would imagine.

Jose

You, like most Lewis fans, make like him (Lewis) leaving is the end of the world for Mclaren. But what has he done since his world title to be counted as irreplaceable? Wins a few, crashes many, yes, he gets let down by technical stuff, just like Jenson, which I feel Mclaren HAVE TO sort, but he hasn't been higher than 4th since he won the title.

I will, however, agree that him and Jenson were a very strong pairing. And it is more constructor fault this year that they're not carrying silverware...

hmm..

what about MSc and Hulk? or Hulk and JB. I am sure MSc would have won few races in a McLaren.

Perez is too immature, makes silly mistakes too often. Ferrari made the right call.

Except, Perez isn't a pay driver like so many others... He has a contract, let him worry about those things...

PS. I am DAMN sure MW is smarter than you, I or most posters here for that matter...

wacko. vodafone have been pulling out of sponsorship deals, and it is more than likely that theywill pull out of f1. notice their logo is no longer on rear wings.

nick. a bit like alonso to ferrari, perez may not technically be a pay driver, but what is the betting that slim is bringing in a shed load of cash to macca?

Nick636, whats that gotta do with Hamilton... he is already signed to Merc.

But Hamiltons last season was terrible but this season, he has not made mistakes to my memory. The rookie year, he almost won the title. The following year he won the title. so i dont really know what you are on about.. if he had the reliability, he would be in the running for the title this year... surely.. not a bad a driver Nick?

I forgot to mention Rai and MSc would probably be the best combination of the vacant driver (i both were looking for drives).

The problem next year will not be Button or Perez. The problem for McLaren has been and will continue to be the leadership and management of the team under Martin Whitmarsh.
