As everyone can see over the last few days the Mclaren is as fast if not faster than the Redbull and its been the fastest car on average over this season but yet Hamilton and Button cant get the job done and make an impression on this championship, why is that? Ok the DNF'S dont help but then so has Vettel, remember Valencia and Monza? The point here is that the current Mclaren drivers are overrated and might even struggle against their new teamates Rosberg and Perez next season, just face it Sham is not on Vettel and Alonso's level, before the Sham lovers come out and defend him just remember Alonso lost out in 2007 because Ron loves slowing down cars that yhe team is basically racing, even if it does mean race wins and championships ars lost, look at Sham's performances at Spa, Japan and Korea, they bordered on pathetic.

@Tealeaf finally someone that is talking sense about Hamilton!yes occasionally he's unbeatable as are all the top drivers but when you need championships and consistency then you need a Vettel or Alonso.

I'm not a fan of either if then but those two are on a different level from everyone else.

Surely these results are purely a show of the talent of the drivers, they are so far off the pace of the full timers in the same cars. I don't think they tell you that the McLaren is the best car by any stretch. Just another excuse to bash Hamilton.

Wow, drawing conclusions about cars and full time drivers from young drivers circulating 4s off race pace is stretching credibility to the ultimate limits of adhesion. Seems someone has slipped off the reality line and beached themselves. Pretty sure the teams are using the young drivers to test aero more than anything, which means instructing them to stay away from others, run consistent laps, don't drive over curbs, etc... just run smooth regular laps and let the team collect the data. Thus any differences are irrelevant.

Robin Frijns testing shows that the RedBullRenault is 5 tenths of a second faster than the Sauber. In the same drivers hands... Having said that, he drove RB after Sauber when he was more familiar... Maybe the RedBull car isnt as superior compared to the Sauber after all. Must just be the drivers and their knowledge.

Valsecchi 8 tenths quicker than paffett must mean that Hamilton and button in the Mclaren must be AMAZING to be anywhere near the pace of Raikonnen in his Lotus..... Fascinating faults and give us such an insight into the true pace of our current driver line ups. :-)

@ Giveaway:
Frijns pace in the RBR8 doesn't even show to full extend the superiority over the Sauber.
Frijns mainly did aero tesing in the RB and was only allowed to have 1 flying lap to set a fast time.
If he would have been allowed more quali laps, he would have shaved off at least half a second and be roughly as fast as Da Costa and about 1 sec. faster than the Sauber.
