I've had this feeling for awhile Kobayashi has a deal elsewhere on the grid, but he can't announce it yet. If he was staying with Sauber they would have announced it already imho..

There was supposed to be a big surprise from Sauber this Friday.. Unless it's something else thats been announced already.

If it's only down to what is done on the race track, then Kamui should get the drive hands down! Gutierrez hasn't performed well in FP outings. If Kamui gets the drive I believe what she is saying, if Esteban gets it then she is clearly lying and it is about money. Make the right choice Monisha, this drive should be Kamui's.

I really hope that KK stays at Sauber. He's only 8 points behind Perez and that guy has moved to McL. If KK loses his ride a Sauber because he hasn't "performed" and Guti gets the seat, we all know $ was the factor.

Monisha - Sign KK on for 1 more year at least.

IMHO, I would love to see KK fill the 2nd Ferrari seat in 2014.

I've heard news that Mexican radio and Carlos Slim have confirmed Gutierrez as their second driver. Strange then that Kobayashi has come out and said he was confident about next year.

Fingers crossed he's taking Grosjean's seat.

Kamui to Force India = Downgrade
Kamui to Williams = Sideways/Unch
Kamui to Lotus Renault = Improvement

Force India, has a lot to gain from KK. (Empty Seat, rolling the dice with GP2 driver is a bad idea)
Williams, Bruno replaced by Kobayashi? Kobayashi alone has more points than Williams GP team. If I was running Williams I'd be gunning for KK to sign.
Lotus Renault, Grojean is a good qualifier. However Grojean has been making too many enemies and he has been given more chances than the average F1 driver.

If worst comes to worst, KK should do WRC Rally. He was the first to go on Austin GP track when there was a slick chemical film and drifting.

I have my fingers crossed for Kobayashi/Hulkenberg for sure, I think they would be a very strong driver pairing and probably the most bang for the buck you could get in F1 2012 - i.e. there may eb teams that have stronger lineups but then they've had to pay a LOT more for them.

8 points behind Perez, who has had 2 podiums? They have to keep Kamui! But still Jaime Alguersuari to fit In somewhere if what he was saying is true...

@Ilania - Sergio has had 3 podiums to Kamui's 1. However they all came from the back and alternative tyre strategy working to his favour. Where as Kamui's came from great qualifying and solid race pace.

Kamui has been unlucky this season, I think he would have atleast one more in Spa, he had the pace and the starting position, even though he didn't get a great start, he was caught in the chaos that Grosjean created and went from 2nd to 13th because of it.
