Just like ptolomy & taipan said - it's easy for a top driver to be fast when he has NOTHING to lose. For Vettel EVERYTHING was at stake. And to make a pass where he did (with the help of a backmarker) was no big feat. As long as guys like Vettel and Alonso are around with their consistency, he will not win another championship.

You might be surprised if you saw me with a shot in an F1 car. I am quite an accomplished motorcycle and car racer, and also quite a sought after mechanic.

Yeah, you're right! I can't wait to see what he pops off at the mouth with in about 3 months when he is back there mixing it up with Toro Rosso and Caterham.

It doesn't matter what Lewis does or how he drives he is never going to get the recognition he deserves, not in our life time, unfortunately life is still not equal.

I think you should judge Lewis on how much he has out performed Button in the same car, the points tally do not tell the whole story, he has out qualified Button 17-2, some commentars are giving Button four but that is only becasue Lewis was but behind Button on penalties.

Last year was a blip in Lewis's career he had so many personal issues to resolve unfortunately he let it affect his racing which he shouldn't have done but hey we are all human and we all have personal issues to deal with in life, not all of us live our personal
lives in full view of the public else he would have beaten Button that year too. I suppose Taipan would have something to say about that but I am sure all true F1 fans can see it for themselves

It is not all about the driver it's about the car too, take Schumacher for instance how great is he

judge. are you really saying that lulus problem last year was due to nicole? even when all was ok, he still was taking people off! look at monaco.

i would have hoped that when an f1 driver straps himself into an f1 car, that his mind is on his job. if not, then he should not be allowed to sit in the car.

imagine driving along and trying to pass another car, and then saying to oneself....what is my gf doing now...does she still want me....etc. recipe for disaster! nearly as distracting as trying to text when you are driving.

the main problem is that lulu is not a consistent enough driver, and in this respect, he is shown up by button. alonso IS consistent, and look where he is in the wdc.

Richard, you comments betray your hatred for Lewis, where do you get this Button consistancy, Lewis has been the most consitstant driver along with Alonso this year and had it not ben for operational issues would be leading Alonso, it wasn't just girlfriend issues it was also team issue, remember the race last year where Lewis was in front of Button, he was asked to save fuel, he asked his team will jenson pass him and the team said no but within lap Button was trying to get past him and it is this sort of issues why Lewis is leaving Mclaren believe it or not.

I really don't care if Lewis wins a race next year what I do know Button will not be leading Mclaren to victory, he may win the odd race but that is it.
