@Michael Procter it's better than sugar coating it for him. They are being realistic & probably have answered the question when a journalist has asked them how Perez will cope next season.

I don't rate Perez. I think Hulkenberg was more deserving of the drive but let's see what happens next year.

A bit like the pot calling the kettle black I think, Button has stuggled this year and been thrashed by Hamilton. Button and Perez will be on a par next season and McClaren instead of having two number ones will have two number twos instead. Ron Dennis seems to think they will get wins next season but I think he is just being Ron Dennis, building the team up but knowing that Button and Perez will struggle to get anywhere near a win let alone the championship. He will then be in a good position to bring in someone who can do the job. Not a lot of choice but I'm sure Raikonnen would go back there especially if Lotus fail to improve. Either way Vettel or Alonso will win the championship next season because they are head and shoulders better then the rest apart from Hamilton who will be struggling with a Mercedes.

I think that Hamilton going to Mercedes has a lot to do with Bernie. The Schumacer experiment hasn't worked and MB were threatening to pull out. Hey presto the only existing out of contract WC signs for them. To keep the deal sweet Sergio with his wealthy backer are pushed towards McLaren who were in need of a new sponsor.
I think not

Folks, lets not take the poor fellows commentary out of conext. I'm sure he is referring to the shoes he has to fill which is a reflection of what a gentleman Jenson is and he has been saying this since Lewis made his announcement.

I think they both need to raise their game in qualifying to stand a chance.
I'm not too sure how good this years Sauber is though and the switch to McLaren might just be the thing for Perez.
A case of wait and see
