That'll be Jenson putting Sergio in his place then!

It's all about mind games, and J.B's getting his in early.

It'll be interesting how S.P copes next year.

I for one am looking forward to it.

I'm looking forward to a little healthy competition between 2 McLaren drivers WITHOUT all of the Hamilton fanboy venom and nonsense!

Forget about personalities for a moment...
He is joining a team with a world champion as a teammate who is very fast and loved by all on the team.
He is replacing a driver who was a world champion, won 21 races, and might be the fastest guy in F1 when the car is working well.
And he is joining a team that routinely competes at the sharp end of the grid in nearly every season.
Of course there is pressure, and I wonder how he will manage this pressure. I agree that Hulkenberg might have been the better choice as I am not certain Perez can handle the scrutiny that he will encounter next year.

Already downplaying Perez I see. What a team player. Mark my words this guy is going to show his true colors next year. I hope Perez teaches him a lesson. If he does, Button is going to fall apart like a cheap suit.

Reading the story I do not think that he is belittling Perez just advising that McLaren work differently compared to some of the smaller teas as for them the Team comes first rather than the driver. I am sure that Jenson found that during his first year there as there will be a need to get to know all those engineers etc in the 2-3 months before they start testing again

McLaren have quite a strict fitness need for the drivers and other members of the team. Why else would they have a McLaren fitness group that I think even the English Rugby teams and other sports are and have used. Just look at Jensen's 'hobby' of Triathlon.
