@race fan - Ferrari, a "train wreck" of a team? At least they're always pushing for titles and still in the hunt right down to the last races, even having started the year on very bad footing. If Ferrari are a train wreck, then what does that make McLaren? Hm?

Latest weather forecast for Sao Paulo is 33D/C and some showers on Saturday and 19D/C and pissing down all day on Sunday.

Should make things interesting, the odds are against Alonso but I wouldn't bet against him, you just never know.

I love this, such a 180 from last year.

i bet he is doing the rain dance every night in his room as i feel that alone will be the only thing he has going for him in Sao Paulo.

if its dry its all over for him. vettel will do his usual get out front, break DRS...profit!

unless our friends Magneti Mareli have something to say.

i am truly happy for either to win.

"Fernando hasnt won a title in 5 years and is in a car that might qualify as far down as 6th or 7th."

That's only because Fernando is a rather poor qualifier. Put Lewis or Seb in that car and it would start popping up on the front row a lot more often.

"We know that a place on the podium alone could be enough."

It will be, if Vettel has a breakdown or a crash. I wonder if loyal soldier Massa has been instructed to "do whatever needs to be done" to stop Vettel finishing in the points. That seems to be the way Ferrari operate.

Here's another way to look at it,
Alonso MUST finish on the podium to take the title. That means if 3 people finish ahead of him, he is done. Those 3 could be Vettel, Webber, Button, Hamilton, or Kimi. Grosjean has a shot too. Michael might do it, or Nico. Or any one of the other 15 or so drivers.
Even still, if Alonso wins the race, Seb only has to place 4th and the championship will be all his again!
