By any chance, Does "smooth weekend" means not to be asked to hold Alonso or let Vettel pass through!

Webber had won twice here in Interlagos. His aim should be to finish at least ahead of Vettel and hopefully behind Alonso. And with both McLarens and Massa between him and Alonso. That is my wish list....

Mark needs to go out there and do everything, within the rules, to assist his team mate win the WDC. That means qualifying in front of Alonso and remaining in front of Alonso for the race. If, by chance, Seb is behind him, he may need to let him through. It is a team sport after all.

Substitute Massa for Mark, and Alonso for Vettel and you will get the inverse.

Fanbois will never let consistancy or hypocricy get in their way...

ck. yes, i too am puzzled about the disagrees to googols post. it is a fair, factual and unbiased comment. but as you know, that matters for little on this site! note that those who "disagreed" would not even bother to make a comment of their own, as a response. crash should get rid of the disagree button entirely.

The disagrees may be because although it is a team sport, the team in question (RBR) have won the championship and have nothing more to win.
The result of this race will determine the drivers championship only and only 2 individuals can win that. In the interest of balance I hope you would approve of Massa going out there and doing everything, within the rules, to assist his team mate win the WDC. More chance of that happening if history is anything to go by. To Webber's credit, he doesn't seem very fond of holding up people or letting his team mate through.

Fortunately, Interlagos is usually a great deal more unpredictable than most tracks and none of the above will apply.

The disagrees are hypocricy, because if Massa goes out and holds up Vettel, after Ferrari have already lost the Constructors Title, he is only doing it to help his teammate.

But if Webber moves over/holds up Alonso you guys cry because the WCC is over, and the drivers should settle it?

I want to know what the fanbois will say if Alonso throws it into the wall in the wet (like Japan 07, where he effectively lost the title)? Will it still be whining and crying about Vettel in the fastest car?

PS: The RBR is NOT the fastest car anymore... The McLaren has proven to be the fastest in the last 3 races, but I still hear that Vettel's results are only from his car.

It's like watching my children argue about why they should get extra desert... The reasoning and fundamentals of reality take a back seat to getting what they want. Sounds an aweful like the Alonso/Hamilton Fanbois on here...

Individuals do not win the drivers championship. Whoever wins the WDC will have had the best combination of (1) driving ability, (2) car, (3) team, and (4) luck. That's the case every year.

If Seb really wants to emulate the great Micheal Schumacher then he's got to take out Alonso himself, and not leave the dirty work up to his teamates.

Seriously though, I hope all drivers have a safe clean weekend....
