The pressure on Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov intensified in Brazil as neither was the first name on Caterham's teamsheet for 2013.

i wonder who wll be shown the door at caterham? kovi or petrov? petrov has run out of sponsors, and kovi does not bring sponsors. if kovi goes, i would like to see him get the seat in fore india. he deserves far better than caterham.

Both will probably go Richard, and I agree it would be nice to see Kov at FI.

Well there it goes, F1 has officially become a chequebook business. A driver like Kov and Kobyashi (who has podiumed this yr) getting chucked out in favor of spoiled little rich kids who are sh*t drivers.

If Chilton gets the Marussia seat next year I will stop watching F1 altogether.

They might as well sign Giedo then after this glowing review of Pic's talent seeing as though the two were equally matched during their time as teammates at Barwa Addax in GP2.

I wouldn't be too sad to see Kovalainen or Petrov go. I think Kovalainen is overrated nowadays. Just because he beat a pensioner and a paydriver for a couple of years (and not even all of the time) IMO doesn't mean he's suddenly better than in his Renault or McLaren days. He already had two very good chances in F1 and couldn't make it work, plenty of others deserve a good seat more than him.

Koba going, that's a travesty for F1, Kova...not so much.

I reckon GVdG should get the other drive and is deserving as is Pic, they should both have promising futures as potential winners in top end teams. Further with the progress that FI appear to be making, and the new 50m budget increase, I'd like to see Kovy end up there with Kamui ousting the highly over-rated PdR, who appears to have struggled in the later part of the season as Hulk has gained even greater momentum.I actually beleive that Macca have made a mistake in taking Perez over Hulk or Kamui and do sense that whilst Peraz has good promise, Macc are looking at hi-jacking the Mexican cash, they've always been good at taking over others commericial deals, as they offer a greater PR value with the corporate and PR work their drivers have to do.

@jjj, Heiki was the number two driver at McLaren, many were predicting that Petrov would show him up, he hasnt really been shown up by any of his F1 team mates, he is probably (at least) on par with Kamui with respect to deserving a seat for next year.

A joke, sorry......a bit like F1 these days.

...and both the top two in GP2 (Valscecchi and Razia) both without F1 drivers....but Gutierrez manages it due to sponsors and money!

F1 is becoming a farce and I am going to stick with bikes, where talent matters!

Anyone else think PdR has struggled against Hulk since his fourth in Singapore?....seems he has had a sulk on to me for missing Macca,Merc and Ferrari drives, where as Hulk has out driven the car regardless!
