Mark Webber: I thought the lap would be enough, but we were a tenth off; it's always tight here in qualifying...

Now we just hope that his car doesn't fall apart on him and he doesn't go into turn one in 8th place due to a bad start. Vettel is going to be all over his tailpipe if he doesn't get the best launch he's had all season.

He's never been much of a team player, but surely even Webber understands that his job tomorrow is to help his teammate win the WDC. Right? Right?

Mark is an extremely rough character. Openly saying he was running his own race and tra la la to Vettel. Perfectly clear to me that he was thumbing his nose at his team mate. Add that he already said a wet race didn't favor Seb a week ago and I can see an end to the one year contracts.

The Red Bull team love Webber even if he isn't a "team player" like Massa has been at Ferrari. He's fast enough to help them get those constructors championships and rarely gets into a tangle with Vettel these days.. So while he might not help Vettel, he won't deliberately ruin Vettel's race either. He just wants to win the race for himself.

Vettel is long past expecting anything from his team-mate. And lets face it, the only way Vettel is losing the championship is a DNF, he doesn't need anything from Webber especially since its likely he'll be past him by turn one.

I'm sure Seb would rather be able to say he won the WDC without artificial assistance anyway (which another driver won't be able to). MW is better off getting himself into a position to help SV if needed when it matters - the end of the race. Also if MW has the 25 points it means someone else doesn't.

I have to admit I am a more than a bit floored by the number of people who are saying Webber should help Vettel win the championship. It makes me wonder where the hell you all were when the situation was reversed?

As long as Mark doesn't take finger man out of the race he doesn't HAVE to do a damn thing other than drive the car as best he can and if that means going for the win then so be it
