You couldn't have asked more from Alonso, he accomplished a great feat in itself to be competing for the world title going into the final race with that car.

It was a great finale none the less. Whatever Ferrari wished for they got it, Vettel crash early, rain, more crashes etc etc. They just couldn't make it count.

Also I didn't appreciate Micheal Schumacher letting Vettel go past him.

Kimi will have to go to FIA prize giving ceremony :) He wont be happy about it!!!
Good that Lotus will have the 3rd garage in pit lane next season.

For all you Ferrari fanboys crying, no Seb didn't pass under yellow. The FIA concluded that it was not a yellow flag marker. It was a track condition marker notifying the racers that the track is wet. Also why would you think that was a yellow? It was between turns 4 and 5 where there was no crash or accident. So no, it wasn't a yellow flag as the FIA have concluded. Alonso got all the luck he deserved that race and even more! Everything went his way but in the end it was not enough.

That was one great race. Congrats to Seb and RBR, bad luck for Hamilton and Hulkenberg. What the heck was that drive through about? A racing incident if there ever was one. Did anyone else see after the race Coulthard pointing out in the replay how after the spin Seb was actually reversing the car in the middle of traffic to avoid more hits? Way to keep your head together.

So sad for both Hulk and Lewis..
and that penalty was just stupid. Certainly controversial as it helped Alonso massively with two free places and an additional bonus from Massa.

Nothing to take away from either FA or SV though...superb drives and superb finale it was

Congratulations to Vettel, perhaps the other teams will discover Red Bulls secrets in time for next season. Great race by Button who only finished 2 points behind probably the fastest man in F1, Lewes Hamilton who I wish all the very best of luck for 2013. Incidentally, did I hear Jake correctly when he said the BBC would be covering the whole of next season??

How on Earth can FIA penalize Hulkenberg for collision with Hamilton, yet allow Vettel to go unpunished for his collision with Senna?

Both incident were similar level of 'oops', racing incident at best and a small fault by drivers in difficult condition at worst.

Not a huge fan of Vettel because personally i don't think he deserves to be a 3 time world champion, this year he had incredible luck, but other than that he drove a solid season and well done.

Two things: I loved massa's rear gunning for Alonso at the beginning and their team work with the overtake , say what you will about team orders they did well today and it was good to watch

Secondly Di resta keeping the wheel pointed to the right to keep out of the way after that big smash was impressive
