Couple of stats, points is what its all about.
hamilton v button over there 3 years as teammates.

points
Button = 672
Hamilton = 657

Wins
Hamilton = 10
Button = 8

Both great drivers, shame he's leaving :(

Edit from a below post about hamilton smashing him this year = correct.
And Button destroyed him last year REMEMBER!

Highest champ position over 3 years.

Button = p2 (2011)
Hamilton = p4 (2010 & 2012)

Looking at the points over 3 years it is undisputable that Button has outclassed hamilton at Mclaren.

Hulkenberg has nothing to apologise for, this is racing. If Hamilton was as good as his fans make him out to be he shouldnt have been racing with a Force India anway.

Stats only tell half the story though.

Hamilton has annihilated Button this year, and anyone with any knowledge of this sport knows that the standings dont paint a true picture.

I did not see the incident, so I cannot judge, but if Hulkenberg got penalized he sure had some blame to it.
With that said, it is sad to see Lewis depart, without a doubt the fastest guy out there, extremely unlucky this season, never been a huge fan of him but this season he drove really well and seemed to have mature a great deal, I wish him well in Mercedez since it will only add up to the spectacle to come next season.
Even the Argentinian commentators that do the races for Latin American Fox pointed out what a changed man Lewis' been this season.
I can only hope next year will be like this or even better. 2013 Alonso or Hamilton WDC, I'm OK with either one.

that shunt was a racing incident on a slick track. The Hulk was racing for his first GP victory. He didn't deserve a drive through, and that dude, LH, didn't deserve an apology. Not just my opinion but David Hobb's

@ shamilton,
ok you're not an LH fan we can see that, he wasn't the only one racing a force india today as I recall so that theory doesn't hold water, and tbh LH left room for Nico when he saw him coming I think Nico was a little hot into the turn and overcooked it, it wasn't a case of LH making a move round the outside was it, perhaps he should have just gone off the circuit and disregarded the turn ?!!! then would you have been happy ?!!!

Well...

Nico did the right move... inside curve hamilton was wide open.

Wet track made car slide and everything was a racing accident...

Avoidable yes... but that's not racing Nico was in contention to win he was entitled to do so and he tried...

In fact it wasn't an insane manoeuvre... steward went to far and there's no such thing.

Lewis isnt really known as a guy who apologised to the opponents he has taken out of the races though. Despite more mis-haps than Michael Schumacher for Hamilton, Button coudnt match him, 16-4 in qualifying and 9-4 in race finishes in Hamiltons favour.

I feel for lewis having his last drive for Mclaren ruined by a racing incident that said hulk didnt deserve a drive through for what should have been deemed a racing incident either.

but hey alonso didnt win the wdc which is always a good thing :) I will say though that if button hadnt have had the advantage in the early season with brawn I honestly believe this would have been the 4th in a row for Vettel, and when the curtain falls in brazil 2013 I hope ends the same way as the 2012 wdc :)
