All this rubbish about the points between Lewis and Button is somewhat trivial. Lewis was in the lead and should have won 2 races this year but for mechanical failure, he was also on pole in Spain but was put to the back of the grid + remember all the botched pits stops etc at the beginning of this year. If nothing else, that is a minimum of 50 points. Just look at qualifying, that will tell you who is fastest. In the middle of the season Button was lucky to get into q3, whilst Lewis was on the front row.

I am yet again amazed at the amount of fanboys on here that think because Hamilton won the quali battle that proves he is faster.

Yes, over 1 lap, but unfortunately for you fanboys, F1 GP's are usually slightly longer than 1 lap.

I don't care how fast he is over 1 lap, cause over 3 years he has been shown up as at least 15 points slower than Jenson!

Choke on it fanboys!

If people want to throw opinions on the Hamilton vs Button rivalry, then I'll join in but I'll go by the facts.

- Over the 3 years, Button has scored more points although it was close. FACT
- Hamilton was the better driver in 2012. FACT
- Button was the better driver in 2011. FACT
- 2010 was imo similar given Button was just joining the team and did well to push Lewis.

The only thing I'm getting here is that both are phenomenal but different drivers. Both have different weaknesses. Button's are more apparent. His precise driving style has two consequences. He doesn't heat his tyres quickly and a not so good setup will severely handicap him. Hamilton's weaknesses are firstly, despite his increased maturity this year he has had the odd issue (Spa being prevalent). Also, in changeable races such as these, his decision-making is decidedly worse than Button's who if it weren't for that safety car would have only had to face Hulkenberg to win at Brazil.

Sodudo, The thing that should be remembered is that most F1 pundits and all fanboys were completely convinced that Button would be utterly destroyed by Lulu, it just didn't happen.
Is Button better than they all thought? Is Lulu worse than they all thought? Who cares simple fact is Button got the better of Lulu over 3 years.

And for those who whine about points not telling the full story, Vettel just won the championship on POINTS and so has every other champion in F1 history. Points are how drivers are measured if you don't like it go watch another sport.

LH has helped Jenson out this past season. He has developed the car all year. Even when he made public that he was leaving, Mclaren put next years parts on his car. They knew he understands how to develop this car.

Next season we shall see the real JB. We will learn and see how he can develop the car, being the No1 driver. Good luck to him, I hope this a good season for him.

I think I have read most of the posts on here. Not one has mentioned the other cars which were involved. I personally think the back markers caused the incident. He couldnt have backed out of the situation as there was no where to go! Hulk should not have tried a move that would have failed.

You can alter the figures to suit, the fact is they raced together for 3 years and Lewis out scored Button in 2 of them. As the other guy and Benitez said FACT

Nick, after your earlier comment "Lulu has annhialated Button this year" yeah annhialated him by two points! you really have no credibility, best just to sit quietly and sulk in the corner.

Never mind there's always next year.

Oops that was cruel, I shouldn't have mentioned next year to a fanboy!

Yawn. Button really is the most boring person in F1. Last week he just let Vettel drive past without even putting up a fight. What a sissy. I guess that must be his "smooth" driving style. Ha. ROFL. LMAO. Compared to that, I'd take Hamiton any day. Plus he's beaten boring Button in 2 out of 3 seasons at McLaren.
