I think that Pic volontary lets Petrov overtook him because he'll go to Catheram next year, I'm sure not be the only one thinking that but what ever, it's good for him. :)

I'm serious, and as French (so French pilote fan), i'm not realy embarassed by this if it was in his intention.
His future team will have more ressources to take him in a better position.

It is a part of the sport, the strategy, but he does a very good job all the grand prix so i'm dont sure it was intentional but i think he was'nt obligated to let Alonso in this place of the circuit where it would be difficult to contain Petrov.

So i'm in doubt but it won't be a shame as french fan, but as a honor man who honor his contract, it is.

So i'm partaged.

Good result by Petrov today. Have to say I don't think it's a coincidence that when it comes down to it, Petrov has to save the team and Heikki is miles behind. Petrov has come good in this final say, third of the season outqualifying and outracing Heikki in the last races. That said I don't think it'll save his carreer, however it may ironically be the final nail in Heikki's coffin as they pay him to deliver this result and it's a paydriver who actually does it...

Think it'll Razia or van der Garde at Caterham next year. I'd say vdG has the edge in having already partnered Pic at Barwa in GP2 and having been involved with the team for a year, however, I don't know how he gets on with the new chief Abitboul and how much coin he brings compared to Razia.

@JJ Petrov got beaten the entire season by Kovi only in the last couple of races all of a sudden Petrov started to get the best out of Kovi and at that point I told to myself 'Kovi is out of the team for next season' I was right his performance just dropped knowing he was without a seat for 2013.

Great news for Caterham, the ignominy of finishing , undeservedly, behind Marussia would of been appalling. I am just delighted that justice has been served with three cheers going to Pic, who as a Marussia driver in his last race for them realised who he was driving for next year and took the strategic decision not to fight too hard , no doubt wiping the smile off Booth's face at Marussia for another year. :-) Go caterham.....

The Caterham is fundamentally a faster car, so there's no need to think about controversies, actually Pic seemed to try and fight back as they ended separated by less than 2 seconds iirc.

That said, Marussia must realise that they were there thanks to a freak result in a freak race. On the season they were trampled by Caterham one to one. Yet it's true they improve their competitiveness and they must feel a great opportunity for 2013 has been taken from them.

Now indeed, who gets that Caterham seat ? It feels as if Petrov just saved Heikki's drive given that the deal was that the Finn would stay if the team finished 10th.
