@ droog
How do you propose to fund 300,000 jobs? Mine was one of them. Many of these people are my friends. I worked at the Cape many years and I hate it. My own children were raised and my house was paid for, working there. But we saw it coming, privatized un-manned orbit and we moved on. Exploring space when your trillions in debt is not a high priority right now.
BTW, calling the very highly educated President an idiot is childish. What have you accomplished?

Very sad. If I was a billionaire and had the time to spare, the passion, the money - I would buy the team tomorrow. Sadly I have none of these so cannot save the team. With fingers crossed, SOMEONE ELSE can.

Even though HRT only made headlines for being in the way, I admire their effort. IMHO I would like to see F1 cheaper so other teams can come in and compete. Not saying there should be 100 cars on the grid, but 26-28 would be good. Less technical regulation and limited budget would I think be more exciting, although hard to police budge. Honestly I could care less about lap times and more about closer racing. Who cares if lap times are in the 1m40s or 2m05 if all the cares are within .5sec of each other. That way driver skill really shows.

Say what you like about HRT, fact is they have been infinitely more successful than the last US effort, USF1, which achieved nothing more than a crash test of a nose cone.

I hope HRT survives, and is able to power Pedro towards the 2013 WDC.

I said this somewhere else, but why don't we just buy it? How many people worldwide follow F1? If every single one of us pitches in $20-50, something like that per year, that should be enough, right? We call it "fans' fund" and we get to vote who'd drive for the team. And registration for the "fans' fund" is like a lottery ticket, you know, maybe every race, a few people from it get invited as a VIP to a race. Maybe we can even have a paint-the-car contests, things like that. That sounds a whole lot of fun, doesn't it?
