+1 to JohnO and mk, it amuses me all the pundits who have no stake in this to bash Alonso personally because his team asked for a clarification. When you're talking about the difference between the World Championship and First Loser, and all the prestige that separates the two, after 20 races all over the world, tens of millions of dollars invested, many millions more to be gained or lost, thousands and thousands of man-hours, etc., hell yes, you'd ask for "clarification" as well. If Force India asked for clarification aftedr their driver finished a race in eleventh place, I'm pretty sure all of you would be on here bashing the driver. Not.

Money and greed have totally prostituted F1 to the level of commercial exploitation , there is no sport left. The last real F1 race took place in Pescara in 1957 and its been a downward slide since then. If you want to witness the sole remaining vestage of real racing go to the Isle of Man for the 2013 TT or the Ulster GP or similar.Michael Dunlop and John McGuinness and their ilk are the true heroes of modern motor sport.

"if you had driven the wheels off an inferior car for 18 races"

You're the one making no sense. Who says that Alonso drove the wheels off a inferior car? I'll tell you who - ALONSO. Stop accepting whatever he says as the unvarnished truth. There was nothing wrong with his car.

ferrari is a disgrace to the sport of F1 here is hoping that they pull out of the sport that they are polluting! the sport would be so much better with them NOT in it ! if this happens and vettel looses the title then all the other teams should refuse to race with ferrari and boycott the sport better still the fans should! a think this is what vettel was meaning when he said dirty tricks

"bash Alonso personally because his team asked for a clarification"

His team "asked for clarification" about a matter which needed no clarifying only because Alonso threw a tantrum.

There was a time when Ferrari was bigger than any one man, bigger than any one driver. They sacked Prost (a better man and a better driver than Alonso) for complaining about their car. How far they have fallen! These days the entire firm exists to stroke the ego of one sad and pathetic little man.

In a few years Alosno will leave Ferrari. But their reputation will still be stained.

Regardless of the situation regarding this incident(although as far as i am concerned Vettel did nothing wrong),Ferrari do not deserve to get anything out of the season due to the fact that they changed Massa's gearbox even though there was nothing wrong with it,purely to bump Alonso up the grid. That was one of the most blatantly, unsportsmanlike acts of cheating i have ever heard of and they should be ashamed.

Call Alonso or Ferrari whatever, if I (1 in 6+billion) were in the same situation, I'll be damn sure I'll raise my hand and say "hey, is it me or Vettel passed that car under yellow? I want an explanation!! WTF?"
That's right I'll be fithing for those points with all I got, no shame, only very few get to drive a Formula 1 and even fewer get to win a WDC let alone 3. SHAME ON YOU BERNIE!!! Rules are made to be followed, if Vettel had a mental lapse(we all entitle to by the way) I in Ferrari's shoes would call foul!!! Simple as that, everybody in this blog would have done the same if a WDC was at stake, but once again we didn't lose a FORMULA 1 WDC by 3 points from a potential rule infrigment!!
