"According to the clarification, teams will be required to nominate one engine map - as a reference - that they used during the first four events of this season, which must then be approved by the governing body." Well just like anything with the FIA it is clear as mudd. If the rules changed then why was it reported extensively as a "clarification"?

In any case I think that this is the root of why Ferrari feel cheated this year.

@JohnO - I started watching F1 part way through the 1993 season but I do not recall other instances of califications or mid-season rule changes.

Are you new to this site or do you sometime post under another name?

I dont care who raised the issue... But if any of you have ever raced, no matter 2 wheels or 4....The yellows are their for safety...marshals on track, a car or bike in a dangerous position, an ambo on track, you just dont know...If the team requires clarification, thats fine, no problem. If he did overtake under yellows then he DESERVES every punishment he gets... If he didnt overtake under yellow then he is SAFE.......and so was everyone else

mark. i think that there have been the odd technical clarifications over the years, but in recent years, a number of driving standards rules have been amended , adjusted, clarified, mainly due to transgressions by one particular driver. for example, the rule about holding a line astern of a safety car was tightened following the infamous webber/vettal accident, caused by a driver veering off line to the other side of the track. and then there was another tightening after button backed up the field to allow lulu to get a head start, etc etc
