Mark Webber vows to fight for the 2013 F1 title and not simply support Sebastian Vettel

Mark might plan to be but doesn't mean it won't happen.

I remember Massa saying at the start of the 2012 season that he had as much chance of winning the WDC as Alonso, unfortunately for Massa Alonso and the team knew otherwise...although his 1st half of the season was disastrous regardless.

Much as I admire your openness and Aussie Grit Mark, I think that you ought to change your name to 'Mark II' or even 'Felipe'. Sorry mate, but you don't speak their language.

Mark, you're a top bloke and a very good driver.

However, your team mate is one of (if not) the very best. There is no shame in playing second fiddle to him.

All the best for 2013!

You can easily say that, Mark, but can you do it? I don't think so, I agree that Mark is immensely good on his day, but is not consistent enough to fight Vettel over the course of a season

I dont think your plans come into it Mark. Id stick with it and win the odd race and be driving one of the top 3 cars.
However if you had to pick a mate from the current crop of drivers, Mark and Jenson would be the top 2 choices.

Next year will be the last contract Webber gets from Red Bull. He is so thick that he actually thinks he has a chance against Vettel. 3 years in a row he gets his rear end handed to him. And every year he yells I am not a number two driver. I wonder if he actually believes what he spews.

Oh Mark, come on!
You have been an excellent number two driver. Nobody believes that you could ever become the number one seat in any serious team. May be HRT, Marussia... You better get used to it, buddy!
