Remember 2009? The pressure was off and he had nothing to prove and he had a great season helping to develop a dog of a car into a race winning machine. 2013 could see much of the same, the ingredients are there.

It think Pirelli's new much softer short life tyres are gonna hurt him next year, last year he was nowhere at times when the tyres where short life, this year with all these 1 stops an being able to push quali style most of a stint meant he could unleash his blistering speed, next year if does that the tyres will be cooked in 4 laps, plus Mercedes have been know over last couple of years to be worst on tyres.

Why did Mercedes want him ? they know his worth , hopefully he will lift the whole team , if not , well his bank balance will be very healthy as a consolation.Hope he won't become the new Jacques Villeneuve ( as Taz remarked a while ago)

Rosberg had a first and a second place finish for Mercedes this year, so I don't think it's out of the question that Lewis will win a race of two there next season.

Absent a big improvement in the car I can't see a title challenge on the cards though. But I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
