@JohnO - you're kidding right? So Alonso taking a car that was over a second off the pace at the beginning of the year and taking it to within 3 points of the championship by the end is down to luck is it?

Mmmm! Well, if Alonso was lucky in Brazil, what about Vettel? He clips Senna, gets spun around and then gets clobbered by Senna again, yet emerges, if not completely unscathed, still with all necessary parts in full working order. You'd have thought the least he'd get would be a puncture for crying out loud. Now that's what I call luck!

bottom line: The reason that F1 exists is for automobile manufacturers to display their excelence in Hi Tec engineering. F1 has never been a level playing field and why should it be. Best driver, how can we judge other than points make prizes.

What we are lucky enough to have are five world champs, one less than last year(good riddance). On the face of it you would expect Vettel to carry on from last season. Ferrari continue to dissapoint, Alonso will always win a race or two though. Button will be right up there at the end, top two. Lewis will have to be content with counting his money. Lotus/Ferrari for third spot. Fancy Lotus even though Alonso will put up a good showing.
