You make the stats say allsorts. Wins and pole positions make Lewis look great, conversion of poles into wins make him look like someone who doesn't deliver enough on race day, Jenson's average position in the championship was better etc etc etc. The only clear fact is that over three seasons they were remarkably close.

Back to subject. What else would anyone expect Button to say?

Smokin, Thats just the point they are not close and never have been. Hamilton has had so many more retirements than Button some his fault I agree but also a lot that were not.
How many races in their 3 years together has Hamilton been fighting at the front with Button in about 5th or 6th place not really figuring in the outcome??

A solid number 2 just like Webber or Coulthard was, Nothing more and the stats prove it.

so what? so he got beaten in quali by lulu? but you get no points for a one lap pace. it is the race that matters. and as for 2012 points, the pair were pretty equal.

but i reckon that those who select the award winners have a lot more knowledge than yourself, and if they felt button did a better job, then you just have to get over the fact that your idol was beaten once again!

@above.

Nope the fact is that Lewis beat button this year and in 2010 making it 2-1 to Lewis, this is the fact you can't get out of.

Race Wins
Lewis - 10
Jenson - 7

Are you saying that the above figures are not true?
Qualifying Head to Head .

Lewis - 41
Jenson - 15

Championship Position
Lewis - 2
Jenson - 1

Mr cruise and collect can keep his award, i reckon it hurts deep down to know your not really worthy

Leo, that just isn't true. In the second season Jenson was the only one who provided any sort of challenge to Vettel, Lewis was nowhere. Lewis was unlucky this year with the poor reliability of the car. Like I said, over three years these things start to average out. Lewis had the advantage at the start of knowing the team and car, blew up in the second year, but beat Jenson in the third year. Average over three years, very close.

Lewis is a terrfic driver, brilliant to watch on his day, but hasn't backed up the amazing start to his career. As Richard says, pole positions catch the headlines, but Lewis has only converted one in four to a race win.

Another story about Jenson/McLaren gets trolled by vitriolic Hami-fanboys in the comments. These *****s are from the bottom of the gene pool and actually make a lot of people wish failure on Lewis - which is a real shame.

I guess Jenson will always be their No1 target of hatred - simply because he beat Lewis and showed him to be much less than the Driving God they thought he was.

lee. well done, you had to use my name ? are you ashamed of your own?

first of all, your stats seem to indicate that lulu got three times more poles than button, but that ration does not translate very well into your wins stats, does it?

anyway, who cares what stats can show? they can be manipulated to prove whatever takes your fancy.

at the end of the day, button got the award, lulu didn't. and as i said, the people who made the award have far more insight than you or i, into what is going on. and if anyone is sore, it will be lulu. beaten AGAIN!

Why are you and your buddy just concentrating on pole positions, fact is over the last three years lewis has beat button 2-1.

More poles, more race wins and more WDC position, no more needs to be said. You button fans can cling to your little points over the three years grab lol, desperation does that to people.

Race Wins
Lewis - 10
Jenson - 7

Championship Position
Lewis - 2
Jenson - 1

Qualifying Head to Head .
Lewis - 41
