Nick, yeah I would say Prost was a better driver than Senna, not just because he scored more points than him, but because he didn't spend his career crashing into things and he had better race pace than Senna, no doubt that'll be hard for you to accept but it's true.

Mega, Learn to spell, it's TAIPAN! Call me a hater if you wish doesn't bother me in the slightest but I have a simple question for you, if Lulu is in a different league to Button why did he not end up 100 - 140 points ahead of him each season? (and try not to blame the team)

Lets be honest we all know why you girls hate Button so much, he pushed your boy too close and you don't like that dose of reality.

Got to wonder why the fanboys hate Lewis so much, quite funny really. They spend all their time trying to convince the World that Lewis is just an average driver, well the average driver beat over 3 seasons, so what does that make But-But?

If But-But was as good as you think and Lewis was as bad as you think the gap between them each season would be enormous!

Actually the only stat that matters is where you finish in the championship because that is the end game.

Neither have proven to be oustanding in that respect. Jenson had a great second last year, and with a more reliable car Lewis would probably have grabbed second this year.

No Taipan - I dont hate Button, although it seems to suit you to believe as much.

But then, if you didn't, you wouldn't have anything to feed the attention seeking you so obviously crave.

Sorry for misspelling. You dont have to outscore somebody with 140 points to be better. Just look at this year. Its plain obvious who was the better driver and LH only finished ahead of Button by 2 points. Why? Because McLaren screwed LH much much more than Jenson. We cant leave out the team factor in this argument.

Imho since LH entered F1 in 2007 the only year Button was better is 2011. All other seasons LH was the faster and better driver.

It's actually 17-3 in favor of Lewis this season, Buton only beat him 3 times in quali.

Button was saying the same things at the end of 2011. He probably didn't realise Lewis had a wretched season or he knew but was just bigging himself up claiming that the 2012 car was going to be designed around his liking etc. etc... Guess what happened though, he got his a$$ handed to him by Lewis well and truly. Lewis lost upwards of 150 points this season due to misfortune and team f*** ups, which would've comfortably won him the title. Arguably, other drivers gunning for the title lost points to misfortune etc. but people don't seem to realise Lewis lost so much more...

Taipan - I was glad when Prost beat Senna in 1989, and I also believe they were a lot closer than many people would have you believe, but did you watch the 1989 season?
Senna was on a different level to Prost and unreliability cost him the title.
Senna had at least 4 wins taken away from him due to unreliability, not to mention Suzuka which was stolen from him.
and before you go off on one, I reiterate, I was no fan of Senna, but I dont refuse to admit the obvious, for the sake of trying to be controversial, or spending time as a middle aged man, trying to get a rise out of other people.

Yes I did watch the '89 season, I also watched the '88 season when Prost in 16 races had 2 mechanical faliures and finished 1st or 2nd in the other 14, ended the season 11 points ahead of Senna but Senna took the title thanks to the stupid rule of only 11 of 16 races counting towards the championship.
