Hulkenberg seems like a decent driver but then he was average in the first half of this season compared with Di Resta and in 2010 Rubens out drove him for most of the season, but said all that i think the Hulk might surprise a few next season and definitely quicker than Perez.

On a new driver line up one will have to wait till the new season has progressed some, but I remember what veteran correspondent Roger Benoit wrote on July 9, he called on Sauber to rethink its driver (Perez/kamui) line up as he believed they were hampering progress, “I've written it in (the newspaper) Blick several times, with this driver duo, Sauber has no future”.
One has to remember that Banoit is a veteran and respected F1 correspondent, on the other hand a lot of people on here were exited by both Perez and Kamui's driving, one thing is for sure, this season they were driving a very good car.

I like Hulkenberg, but I think he might be in for a shock at Sauber. If the car characteristics carry over from this season, he'll have a few tracks he can really attack and the rest will be blah. I'm not even convinced they will be able to get podiums next season as the front runners are pulling away once again.

Nico is definitely a talented new kid on the block,
however, I have not much faith on Sauber,
Perez Kamui might just have brought Sauber to the high of it probably will ever achieve.
With the engineering technical capability at Sauber, even you put Vettle, Alonso, or Lewis in the driver seats, Sauber might just able to advance 1 - 2 positions in the championship....
Sauber needs not only talented drivers, but better designed cars that can win
