I wonder why after all these years they ended their partnership with TAG Heuer.

But anyhow TISSOT would've been my top choice as official timekeeper as they seem more synonymous with motorsports in general, however going with Rolex just tells me personally that the sport will continue to be more ssociated with the wealthy, an image I personally think F1 need to shed especially as it aim for the mainstream in america.

Every article on this is almost identical. Wish they had more informtion on the other players in this area. As andrew2k mentioned what happened to TAG? Did Hublot replace them? If so what happened to Hublot? Also what is Tissot watches role in F1 now? Are they minimal partnership like Oris for Williams F1?

here is a question. when the top three drivers in a race, go into the green room, they all put on a watch, which presumably is a freebie. what watch is it?

and what would the likes of seb do with a huge collection of these? maybe uses them as christmas presents?

I beleive it's one that a sponcor has provided just a little bit of product placement.
E.g. McLaren - Tag
Lotus - TW Steel
Red Bull - Casio etc.

Most teams these days seem to have a tie up with a watch company

Mine is genuine - it's over 60 years old, inherited from my late Father.....and looking at it right now, still keeps perfect time. Google Oyster Royal.

But Rolex have a long history of motorsport sponsorship, albeit mainly in endurance racing, so the connection is there already.

@ Richard, regarding ur question, each driver may have a watch brand sponsoring them eg: Rubens Barrichello with Audemars Piguet, Felipe Massa with Richard Mille (which is amazing), Mclaren Drivers always use Tag Heuer, Schumacher during his first stint was the image of Omega and so on, those are the wacthes that drivers use in the green room as u call it, while Rolex will be the official time keeper of the whole show.
