F1 » Vote for your 2012 F1 Driver of the Year

The title race went to the wire, with two of the sport's biggest names vying for the crown, but F1 2012 was more than that, with eight different winners and some unexpected names in unfamiliar places. But who deserves the title of driver of the year?

Massa... his job was on the line. He was given the donkey work for FA early on which made him look poor and by the end of the year he out paced Alonso. And got a new contract. He drives for the most politically run team under severe pressure and still never complained nor ignored team orders. Even as the media and fans rode him like a dog.

Never understood these claims that the Ferrari was the "fifth or sixth best car" at times. Yes, he qualified 12th in Australia, 11th in Valencia, 10th at Monza. Vettel qualified 11th in China, 10th at Monaco, and 10th at Spa - does that mean HE had the fifth or sixth best car for much of the season?

The tyres caused chaos in qualifying for most of the teams in the first half of the season. It doesn't mean the cars were actually that slow.

My vote is how the wdc ended. After seeing Hamilton and vettel first hand in Texas I have major respect for the ex mclaren driver, he and vettel were in a class of their own and they were certainly pushing eachother to fullest! Everytime they past my grandstand ham was closer and closer!

I'm tired of hearing that Fernando Alonso was "fighting with a pig of a car." When a guy wins the second race of the season in that car, then how can someone say it has problems? It was at the top in the second race of the season. Vettel on the other hand had somewhat of a pig until mid-season, but noone mentions that. And as for Hamilton and Button, they proved to be drivers capable of similar results. Just look at the points. Look at the points and results for the last 3 years. And these two were driving the fastest car on the track we are being told by those who have studied the telemetry and lap figures. Kimi was brilliant. Schumi and Nico may have both been brilliant, but we wont know because they were driving the true pig!
But the idiots here will vote Alonso as the best driver because that is how they have been brainwashed.
