"which other driver retired from the lead 3 times losing 75 points?"

No question but that Hamilton had a lot of bad luck, but you cannot just assume that he lost 75 points in those races. In Singapore and Abu Dhabi he was leading, yes, but retired only a third of the way into the race. It's far from guaranteed that he'd have won those otherwise. If he'd broken down 10 laps from the flag, or even past the half-way point, you'd have a stronger claim.

Anyone claiming Vettel had as many problems in 2012 as Hamilton is crazy. It wasn't just the outright DNFs, particularly those while leading the race, and the Catalunya fueling penalty. It was also other car failures that didn't result in a DNF but lost him positions. Then there were the many pit stop problems earlier in the year. Not saying Vettel isn't a great driver or that he didn't deserve to win the WDC, but Hamilton drove near flawlessly this year and was held back by the team/reliability.

Mercedes are already getting a taste of the Lulu poison. He's slagging off the designers at Merc. Saying that Newey is going to provide the best car on the track to Vettel next season. What a way to uplift the spirits of the people at your NEW team Lulu. I'm ready to see you get all crazy with the media when you are fighting wildly back in 6th-12th place.
Good luck to you and to Mercedes. Mercedes is in for the ride of their life.

Wrong title. LH said SV will have an amazing year not that he will win.
But the Media needs to get off every single thing LH says. oooh man. Its a long way to March 2013.

The kid can drive.
But, he can win only if tire or race manamgent are not important. Austin is a very good example. The tires were lasting too long (even Pirelli recognized it) so, he was abel to drive "all out" with the knife in his teeth.
Too bad the Gurke played again a role.
Happy to see the Gurke and the other one be gone next season.

ptolomy. maybe its all part of his masterplan? play down merc as much as possible, then if he gets a good result, possibly a podium, he will be proclaiming that it was HIS skills that have lifted merc.

ingenious really!

I love how everyone says that Hamilton was in the lead from three of his DNF's.

If I remember correctly, Hulk's rear wheel hit Hamilton's front wheel meaning Hulk was in the lead when Hamilton retired.

Regardless of them colliding, Hulk would have gotten past and due to the rain, it was a sure fire thing Button would have been past no grip Hamilton within a few laps.

Keep the dream alive Bob, speculation as to what would have happened isn't reality my dear fellow. Who isn't to say Lewis would have passed the Hulk back. As for Button he was dropping him like a fly. What is it with these anti inflammatory posts every time a Hamilton thread comes up. Some people am sure just surf the web so as to see whether there are any Hamilton threads that they can be critical of.

Hmmm ... in other words, the Alonso school of race-craft.
