@hamster - re 'pot & kettle'....fair point!

Re this years McLaren & Buttons driving style, well at the start of the year that car did suit his driving style, then from Spa onwards he seemed to be more comfortable. Everything went south before May and he struggled on circuits he'd done well on before, Valencia, Hungary, etc. He won the first even though he was behind on the grid and should have won Malaysia but for a mobile chicane in an HRT.

Lately, Buttons been fast. If it hadn't of been for a fuel pump problem in Austin, he may have had a podium, and he won the last race. Who knows the changes that were made but they didn't suit him but the idea that he doesn't have the speed just doesn't chime with the facts!

Quite funny that Button has become the fanboys latest hate figure for no reason other than NOT being destroyed by Lulu over the last 3 seasons as they predicted.
We've gone through the cheerleaders hating Alonso, Massa, Vettel, Maldonado, race stewards, Whitmarsh etc etc, I wonder who they'll blame next season?

@ Pole Position

His grip was pretty good at Melbourne too. And Brazil for that matter as well. In comparison to mister "The tyres won't last"...

Please get a new rant. Jenson seemed fast enough in 2009 and 2011 to beat Lewis for that matter.

PS. Reporters ask questions and the drivers are expected to answer... It's kinda how the whole "Publicity" thing works. It's not like Jenson called a press conference to scream to the world how happy he is... GET A CLUE.

Tai and Richard

Next year it'll be ALLL about ROSS BRAWN jeopardising his expensive driver's campaign, then they'll blame Nico, THEN Grosjean and Maldonado and any newcomers in equal helpings, before getting all repetitive and starting at Brawn and the car again...

McLaren can't do otherwise than have Jenson ahead of Perez in the design of the new car. He has the experience and for sure he isn't going to try to sabotage Perez. He isn't saying he will always be in the #1 position, and frankly admits he needs a good car if he's going to be useful. So does Schumacher - his poor performance with Mercedes doesn't mean he's lost his talent. In fact I think the poorly balanced car nobbled him. Same goes for Kovalainen and many others. To demand that every driver "drives around the car" is fantastically unrealistic.

@ Jim Crint.. You make all good points about Perez and his speed and potential.. however, compared to Hamilton coming to Mclaren.. keep in mind, Lewis came into his Mclaren seat straight from GP2 -- landed on the podium in the first F1 race.. challenged for the lead and was declared on immediate equal status with Fernando Alonso by Ron Dennis and Mclaren. In Contrast to Hamilton .. Sergio Perez has had TWO SEASONS in Formula One.. and yet, here we have (before the season even starts)'nice guy' Jenson Button jawing to the media that he is reveling in his role as Mclaren's 'Number 1 driver' -- anybody else see anything wrong with this picture.
