Kamui Kobayashi has admitted that he is unlikely to find a place on the F1 grid for 2013.

Pastor Maldonado is worth 45 Millions Pound = $ 74 Millions and for Sauber, Perez is worth more than what Pastor Maldonado gives to Williams
Kobayashi EU 8 Millions = $ 10 Millions sponsor is peanut for the teams.
Bruno Senna and Petrov have 12 Millions Pound = $ 19 Millions but they can't get the seat. I think even small uncompetitive teams are asking more than $ 20 Millions for Cockpit in 2013.
Grosjean was back by Lotus Title sponsor Total and Team Principal Eric Boullier who also serves as Chief Executive of Gravity Sport Management, the company that manages Grosjean. I have no doubt about Grosjean will retain his seat but he deserved to retain his seat. If Grosjean crashes car like 2013 and then his F1 career will be finished.
Sorry for Kobayashi. He is talented F1 driver but we have to see his potential yet because he does have good reliable car yet.
I believe Sauber team was deliberately dropped Kamui Kobayashi. Peter Sauber thinks Nico Hulkenberg can deliver better result than

Felipe Massa just...and I mean JUST...regained his form in time. If he had carried on the way he started this season, Kobayashi would have been the perfect replacement! The second Ferrari firing on all cylinders for 20 races is what is needed to take the fight to Red Bull for the WCC.

I have to say I am really surprised that none of the teams have even picked him up as a third driver...
