Rob, no true formula one follower will disagree with the vote of the pit lane team principals for the best driver of the year whomever driver he may support.
Although the majority of F1 sites push such polls onto their posters, so Crash Net follows the trend and so it is not the only site that does so, I consider such polls as useless and a waists of time, there is a lot more interesting things that I would prefer Crash to make an effort and concentrate on, one such thing is the latest revision of the FIA technical rules for 2013 and their back flip on the same rules for 2014.

The guy has had a decent car since 2009 and apart from 2010 he has not achieved much driving the Newey super cars. He is a good driver but not a top driver as there is a big margin between him and the very best drivers like Vettel, but he is a nice guy though.

everyone keeps forgetting the redbull only became the best car just past halfway through the season.

and that, coincidentally, occured when webber kept on getting gearbox penalities, kers problems and whatever else he seems to attract...

and of course, that let vettel pass him in the points, who webber was leading for the first half of the year.

the points don't really tell the story.

Anyone of the 11 F1 team principals is most probably as unbiased! As much as Rob the Crash Net poster when it comes to picking a driver as the best for the year but with the difference that they have direct vested interests as against fanboyisem, and only a fool will believe all they say, but what makes their collective vote more credible then the total BS on these F1 sites is, there can only be one biased vote on the lucky winner and the likes of Jose and Rob cannot cast their vote.

Sometimes there is deference between a number one driver and the best driver.
The driver voted the best by the biggest winning margin since the poll was started five years ago by Autosport magazine was despite Vettel winning the championship, and to cap it all the same thing happened in 2010.

Man, Crash's readership are a bunch of haters. Red Bull won the constructor's championship because of Webber's consistency in the first half of the season. He had some reliability problems and a couple of mistakes in the second half of the season, but he still won two Grands Prix. He was edged out by Jenson Button in the points, but I still think he was better than Button, this season...certainly better than Hulkenberg. Granted, Webber wouldn't be any higher than fifth this season - but to see Button and Hulkenberg above him is ridiculous.
