Luca di Montezemolo has said that Ferrari was right to keep Felipe Massa for 2013, despite the Brazilian's slow start to the season.

@jim crint --- You've said you believe Alonso was merely 'lucky' but the F1 Paddock does not agree with you.. as the F1 teams Owners AGAIN voted Fernando Alonso as the top driver.. this time voted him top of the heap of F1 2012 (over wdc winner Sebastian Vettel).

@Michael Fornarina - I think it was JohnO who said he thought Alonso was lucky this year. Like a lot of the pundits, I think he was the class act this year and, although I wasn't a huge fan (of the man) before this year, I thought he deserved to win. He definitely outperformed the car!

The Ferrari was probably 4th, or even 5th fastest car at the start of the season and to win the 2nd race and produce that series of results to lead by 40 points mid way was amazing.

As for Massa, love him or hate him, and although he is prone to the odd mistake, his car control is among the best. I hope he hits the ground running next year and gives Fernando a real fight (assuming he is allowed to, of course!)

If Massa can keep his old form like he did the final part of the season Alonso will be back to his crying fit best, afterall keep in mind this was the guy who outperformed kimi badly in 2008.
