herty. great. you have admitted it at last! STATS DO NOT TELL THE FULL STORY. yet you keep telling us that the stat of lulu beating a current wdc in the same car, is relevant.
anyway, beating a driver who chanced onto his wdc, thanks to fia, is hardly something to be proud of, is it?

but please, please hurry up and get that dictionary. it is nearly as difficult to understand you , as it was jose!

Hertfordshire.
I agree the points over 3 years is the ONLY stat Button comes out on top in anyway, Beaten on absolutely every other statistic.

Ronnie Peterson and Gilles Villeneuve where both regarded as the quickest in the sport by all the other drivers at the time but neither won a championship. Sheckter beat Villeneuve to the 1979 title in an identical car and even HE admitted he was not as fast as his team mate.

So points mean jack really in this game, its the respect of the other drivers that means the most and Hamilton puts the wind up Alonso, Vettel etc much more than Button does.

I would say that WDC trophies are worth more than anything to a driver, and of the 2013 line up, Vettel is the most decorated.

In my view, that makes him the best.

When anyone else has more, then I shall change my position.

And here lies the problem with fanboys, "Lulu better than Schumacher" Based on what other than your fevered imagination?
Why can't you just accept that Lulu's a good driver, an ex-world champion? oh no that's not good enough for you lot, you've got to pretend that he's one of the greatest ever and continually spout utter garbage to convince normal humans that your fantasising has some truth behind it.

Lulu better than Schumacher, FFS that has to be one of the most idiotic claims of the year!

I guess those who keep banging that Lewis is not Ferrari material have not heard from Ferrari.

Between all the drivers, Vettel and Hamilton could be perfect for Ferrari in the future, with one difference - Vettel is younger," Montezemolo was quoted by the BBC.

Rob, remember when Lulu went knocking on Ferrari and Red Bull's doors looking for a drive? He was told to sling his hook. If he was as epic as some of you claim they would have signed him.
As for age difference, there's 30 months between Seb and Lulu, if it was 8 years I'd take that as a valid reason for not employing Lulu but not 30 months. Almost as bad a reason as the 3rd team nonsense, but it is the season of good will so it would be rather unfestive of Luca to say "The main reasons that we don't want Lulu is down to the fact that he's overrated and a bit of a nob"

Red Bull head honcho Mr Mataschitz has been reported saying he would welcome Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton to the team should Vettel decide to leave the team.

"points mean jack really in this game, its the respect of the other drivers that means the most"

Some people here have a very odd understanding of Formula One. If what I'm reading is correct then F1 needs to drop this silly business of awarding points based on actual race performance and just award the WDC on the basis of a vote.
