F1 is not the only form of motorsport. So it's not so bad. In 2010 he actually beat Glock at Virgin, so he is good enough for F1.

This just shows that drivers should keep their career options open. F1 probably employs less than 5 percent of all race car drivers. Top notch race car drivers actually have better odds at finding a wealthy gentleman driver to partner with in a sports car series than making it in F1. a

Andre Lotterer from Audi had tested for Jaguar in F1. From Bobby Rahal said he was as fast as their race drivers. But Ford they could not keep him because Ford wanted them to get get drivers that brought in sponsorship.

But Lotterer has been doing very well in the japanese series and has twice won lemans now. He did not keep running after F1 teams. So some of the other drivers need to realize that as well.

Kobayashi, Senna, Sutil, dambrosio, Alguersari, all have generous sponsorship packages that would get them in competitive teams anywhere outside of F1.

Good move for him. If you can't make it in F1 then surely racing in LMP1 is the next best thing. Some would say Indy but I don't think it's anywhere near a world-class series like WEC.

"In 2010 he actually beat Glock at Virgin, so he is good enough for F1."

d'Ambrosio beat him too. So was Pic until Singapore.
