The guy is the youngest triple title winner and dealt with all sorts of adversity during the year to narrowly win the title and he is 4th? It sounds like running down the car's performance constantly instead of taking responsibility for your own performance means more.

I hope Kimi is at least second. He drove the 4th fastest car to 3rd in the championship when is no mean feat. No doubt Lewis will second to Alonso though.

If we accept that Alonso is no.1, you could make a case for the next 3 drivers coming in any order. Kimi's comeback was much better than almost anyone could have expected, but he probably lacked that ultimate edge. After his trials of 2012, Hamilton drove consistently well, with highs in Austin and Canada. Belgium qualifying and two tweet-gate incidents were his only real flaws. Vettel had a poor start to the season and made more mistakes than the others, but he fought back superbly and deserved the championship. I'd have ordered it Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton, Kimi - but, as I say, you can make the case for almost any order after Alonso.

I think the top four are the drivers that former Autosport editor Johnathan Noble described as 'the drivers Bernie would like to see in four different teams, not much between them, although McLaren dont have any of them.
