@Auntie Em, Mario Andretti and Dan Gurney have won NASCAR races and won in F1. And just incase you say 'Dan Gurney who?' he was the driver that, at Jim Clark's funeral, Jim's dad said that Dan was the only driver Jim ever feared, much like Schumi saying Mika was the only driver he ever feared

Richard I read more of the Autosprint top ten, -

“We have analysed not only the results on the track, but also the importance and impact a single driver had on his era,”

Hence why Alonso DIDN'T make the list. Most of his tenure in F1 has been on the front page of the funnies. I was surprised when Ferrari hired a driver with no morals.

rob. that was my point. it is not only wins etc that make a great driver, and the era is very important. however, it is interesting to see that seb has obviously made more of an impact in the modern era, than lulu or even alonso. but ferdi bridges the schumi AND vettel era, but has failed to create an alonso era.
