Well JB won't be happy about such an inexperienced drive being given equal status. That says a lot for JB!
Actually it says a lot about Whitmarsh and Maclaren.
1) he is a bad man manager, Perez must earn his spurs to eat at the same table as JB in reality. Certainly in the media and fans eyes.
JB will be sore at his lack of acknowledgement. If MW has given the nod to JB behind closed doors that undermines Perez.
2) MW has not learned from last year's debacle.
3) Maclaren still believe they are bigger than the drivers that can deliver the title to them and show it by sticking by this ludicrous equal status pairing.

1998 since they won a Title, well they will be waiting a bit longer yet!
I always said MW was lost as team principal. Comes over as a nice guy but really, what a tool!
Btw, I am a Maclaren fan but am certain now interested by what LH will do in the Merc team.

So Zelda the McLaren fan thinks it's wrong for McLaren to think they are bigger than the drivers that they EMPLOY!

What's your alternative then, drivers thinking they are bigger than the teams?

WTF

@Taipan and Taz

I think I know the two people Pole Position wants replaced.

The guy who didn't kiss Hamilton's ass and the guy who kicked Hamilton's ass.

HAHAHAHA

Polo, If McLaren are your favourite team why don't you try supporting that team for a change?

The team made Whitmarsh team principal, you want him sacked, do you know better than the team?

The team kept Button over Lulu, you want Button sacked, do you know better than the team?

If you really are a McLaren supporter try supporting their decisions.

Button has already been with the team for some time, whereas they have no history with Perez. Also, there's the gap between signing Perez and him actually becoming available to work with the team to start having any input on the new car. They weren't exactly going to stop development on the 2013 car while they waited for Perez to officially put on the McLaren colours, and the time between that and the launch in 2013 isn't huge. So naturally, a lot of the development will have been done with Button, as well as with Hamilton. That's not preferential treatment, that's the necessity of having to get stuff done.

Mclarean is very similar to ****nal football team. they talk about what a great team they ar and, whta a great history they have, but haven't won any silverware since 2005. it seems like they have happy as long as they finish top four. same with Mclarean they talk about race winning car but for some reason can not keep it up. either they start slow and develope well or start well and couldn't develope the car same as other teams. so lewis decision to leave and try a new adventure doesn't surprise me. as f1 drive they all want to win the wdc, not just win races during the season. if it's the right decision to make? who knows. I think we'll have to wait and see. can't wait till the new season starts.
