Helmut Marko says he doesn't feel Mark Webber is capable of challenging for the F1 championship title

somehow i find this to be actually a fair assessment. nothing has been said that anyone can dispute. webber DOES not handle the pressure too well, witness his unforced error in korea, when he had his one chance at the wdc. also it is noticable that webbers performance DOES tail off towards the end of the season.

taz. this article was in mateschitz's OWN publication, so i would bet that didi is fully aware of what has been said.

and to those who claim it was not a nice dig at webber, may i remind them that some of these have expressed their disbelief that mark was retained by rbr last year, due to his constant verbal attacks on the team in the years before.

if you give it, you have to be able to take it too.

despite his stated dissatisfaction with rbr, mark re-signed with red bull. he claims he had alternatives....

Richard....i fully agree...mark should be able to take what he dishes out...he has been very mouthy over the last three years. And totally disrespectful of the team and vettle. he had no trouble helping Alonso.

I followed Marko in his brm days prior to the unfortunate end to his career. I respect him but feel there is no need for the comments reported.

Red bull are a team. Has he not heard that word before? Stop being so critical of webber and so gushing about seb. They are both good drivers otherwise they would not be where they are now.

Richard, I fully agree with MW's situation, also was equally disgusted by his (MW) big mouth re his team in the past and was surprised that RBR renewed his contract, but I fully stand with what I said about Marko's disgusting comments which only and openly is aimed at belittling one of his present drivers, I am sure that you can and does appreciate that two wrongs doesn't make one good.

Maybe he cant handle the pressure but why does he hang Webber out like this in the media? i think this statement will add extra pressure on webber. He should respond to this. Marko is a BAD motivation for the team atm.. or he got something personal against Webber.

Sunny, don't always agree with you but your argument is 100% correct, there's no need for these comments from Marko, time and place for everything regardless if they are right or wrong.

I hope Webber takes it as a personal challenge, to ram Marko's comments right down his throat next season and win the championship. It may be a long shot, as I don't personally feel the team supports Webber in that ambition (at all), but there isn't a lot they can do about it if he's outqualifying Vettel and then beating him in races, which he is fully capable of doing, when he's on his game. He has GOT to sort out his starts, though.

Sorry guys, if Mark gets to quick, he will start getting slower, its team orders, Mark doesnt call the shots, hes not the team favorite, it will never happen, even if it look like it might almost, it wont, its personal it seems. They are gonna make sure he stays a #2. Hopefully hes getting enough money.

Rob, yes, Webber should take what he dishes out and that should stand for everybody on God's green earth, but a team and a high ranking team member at that shouldn't behave like Marko does with one of his present drivers, a serious team will not tolerate a driver bad mouthing the team, Webber's contract should never have been renewed after he started bad mouthing his own team, but belittling your driver while he still drives for you is outright disgusting.
