I think it will end up like Formula Two, Formula Masters or Superleague Formula. Sponsors are already having bad times with the current economic situation and spending money in F1. Besides there will never be two kings in one kingdom.

So go watch a bloody dyno then. Personally I don't get why people have be so defensive about this. As long as the racing's good I couldn't care less what type of fuel or engine it is that propel the cars forward.

The major problem with Formula E is not about the electric drivetrains. It's that all the "celebrity" drivers are already in F1. People watch Grands Prix to see Alonso, Vettel and Hamilton slugging it out on and off-track. No other series can expect to captivate audiences, with a bunch of drivers no-one's heard of or cares about. It's like NBC launching a cartoon rival to the Simpsons, about the Smithson family who live next door.

Formula E is just there to prove the technology for Formula 1.

If the 100 year old prime mover that is currently in F1 is made the sacred part, F1 is doomed to obsolesence.

Guys, I think you are looking at this the wrong way.

Just think what a great audience participation sport this could be if everyone makes the engine noises as the cars are going around!

Or try this beer can technique:

Let them try. I may give it a look if I can - there are so many series I struggle keeping with if that is English...

The one good idea is to run on street tracks where battery powered electric are the most relevant and it's also a plus for the spectacle because electric engines lost on Spa's long straights may feel a bit dull.
