F1 » Gascoyne: Kovalainen should have shown more respect

Heikki Kovalainen's approach to finding a drive in 2013 did not help his bid to remain at Caterham, it has been claimed.

What Heikki told to Finnish media was that they pretty much stopped talking to other teams when it was made clear from Caterham that he will continue. And now he is the one who should give more respect for the them, and lets not forget how he was let down by teams promises to make competitive car every year. Just one more driver thaking it up to the a** from promises of f1 teams...

It would have been great to see Heikki in F1 with competitive car (Force India etc.) but as he said himself, he doesent have "name" to make comeback after year out of F1. Sad to see other real driver go because of the economics. And you have to respect man for not paying for hes place!

How can anybody respect a team that didn't improve one bit. Lotus/Caterham was suppose to be challenging for a midfield grid slot by now. I remember all the talk. They were supposedly the best of the new teams. lol

Lost all respect for Caterham. Kovalainen's free 2 do what he wants regrading his career. if Caterham has respect for Kov they would actually give him a race car he can race not just make up the numbers with.

Maybe they should've shown Petrov more respect for single handily giving them tens of millions euro and destroying their "salary earning driver".

Gascoyne, maybe you should keep your mouth shut.
