F1 » Gascoyne: Kovalainen should have shown more respect

Heikki Kovalainen's approach to finding a drive in 2013 did not help his bid to remain at Caterham, it has been claimed.

Another good driver that has been bit by the $ train. i think HK would be great at FIF1, or even throw him into a STR since none of their drivers ever move up to the mother-ship team. Personally I would love to see him at Sauber. I think he would be great for them.

I'm sorry but Gascoyne is a joke, virtually every team he has been in charge of has raced to the back of the grid, Hekki is a decent midfield runner, his win was a bit of a gift but that doesnt matter he's a race winner just like Pastor at williams and he shouldnt be expected to pay for a drive

there is only a few drivers that are really paid to drive in f1 like lewis, vettel, button, kimi
even alonso has to bring sponsorship to ferrari to drive without santander he also would be struggling
f1 would be more exciting if drivers were recruited for there talent not for pay per drive or sponsorship maybe there be changes soon

So sad that Heikki does not be F1 pilot this year! There are many worse pilot than Heikki. He is very like person! Petrov make money for Caterham and be very anpopular person for team! But money speaks.

I wonder why mr Gascoyne speaks about this story!? Little esteem be corret to Heikki!

Heikki should have seen this coming from Gascoyne, He was the only one to give this failed team any credibility getting some good results out of the pile of cr@p Gascoyne produced, It should be Gascoyne leaving but the owners are blinded by him.

Heikki is a great driver and caterham are far from the best team they should be greatful to have had him in the first place..... He deserves a better drive than that anyway... And in my eyes gascoyne has always been a prick... Just my opinion

they all rant on about how good heikki is and vitaly isnt but clearly vitaly is the better driver by far. heikki is always so miserable to his fans. glad he's gone.

The thing I find most interesting is that teams are willing to replace drivers at a drop of a hat. What about the design team or the TD? They are just as responsible for the performance of the car as the driver. Gascoyne has never designed a winning car yet he keeps his job while HK gets the boot?
