ferdi. matching di resta is not saying much! maldonado won in a williams and was close to the front on several occassions, and senna was nowhere near a win.
speed. dont start the old excuse.... my car is better than yours/ my car is sabotaged etc etc

@richard, don't twist my words, please, I only said that the car was slightly better, I did not say anything about sabotage, Maldonado had a pace of 0,700s of difference in some qualifying. Maybe Senna's managing of the tires wasn't the best, but it could also mean that the racing engineers have Maldonado as a priority (they have to be attentive 100% of time, as Maldonado likes to be the party crasher, making them to work on a "new" car from scratch every time :P ).
Maldonado is probably better than Senna, but not by that much, I guess his aggressive style suits the FW34 better. Also lucky win on Spain coupled with good racing management, and bad luck on Alonso, Kimi, Hamilton and Button.

speed, to say that sennas car was not as good as maldonados, just because maldo was faster, is a poor comment. has it not occurred to you that maldo was just a faster driver. each driver has his own engineers, so to imply that somehow, maldo was getting priority? there is nothing in that argument. knowing frank, i could be 100% sure that both cars are identical.

maldo may have had his incidents during the year, but senna was forever getting in the way of others.

to me, there are far better and more deserving drivers waiting in the wings. senna is consistent...consistently mediocre. maldo is fast and a bit reckless. at the end of the day, williams needs results, and maldo is the only one who can and is providing these.

Senna scored points twice as often as maldonado, and without that one decent race this year, maldonado would have had considerably worse points haul than his teammate. That one race was ALL that maldanado did that was even close to showing as being a decent driver and personally I'd rather see Bruno get a drive any day.

What ever he can do, sadly, Bruno has failed to establish himself the same way as his famous uncle (Ayrton) did. Unless he can do that (what Ayrton did), the name Senna gets him nowhere.

I agree entirely with Al's comments . if maldonaldo had NO friday running all last year and bruno senna had fridays it might have been a bit different. The guy showed enough potential to get another year in F1 .His name seems to be a millstone around his neck rather than a plus for him

Shaken, big mistake to say Bruno has to establish him self the same way Ayrton did! Bruno was completely out of racing for 10 years and still lost many good opportunities since 2009 only due to bad luck following Honda's retirement. So, he spent 2009, 2010 and 2011 without a proper development. Had he started with Honda or Brawn he could have won races in his rookie year and surely would be a better driver now. Even so in 2012 he was as fast as most of the grid in the races (even losing 15 FP1) and if he is given a second proper season with a midfield team he still can improve a lot.

al. no need to be insulting! i wouldnt bother insulting you. in fact, resorting to personal insults is a sign that you have no argument!
if you read my comment, you will see that i did say that senna was more consistent, and that maldo was more reckless. so of course senna would be in the points more often. maldo goes all out for a good result, and sometimes it works out, and other times it doesnt.
sennas uncle was like maldo, he went all out to win. now if senna /lalli was to be like his uncle, he would be getting results like maldo and would be more likely to retain a drive.
if he was any good, he would be on the shopping list for other teams.

Richard, Senna was not in equal conditions to Maldonado losing all those FP1, hurting his qualifying, that is why he was not as much in the front in the races as Maldonado. Also 2012 tyres didn't suit his driving style, even Button (a Champion with a similar driving style and 13 years of experience in F1) had a lot of problems with tyres, even scoring just 7 points in 6 races of the first half of the year for that reason. Maldonado was also working with the same engineer for a second season. Also remember that even so Senna was fast as Maldonado in race pace, so he can improve a lot in 2013. With normal tyres and the same amount of track time as others he will be fast also in qualifying, as he was in 2011 with Renault, putting his car in Q3 4 times in 8 races.

(Unless he can do that (what Ayrton did), the name Senna gets him nowhere.)

What a BS. You'd expect every driver coming into F1 to settle the way LEGEND and arguably the FASTEST driver ever did? Nonsense.
