McLaren's Sam Michael admits that the team has had to work on the errors that cost it success in 2013, but insists that there is more to winning than personal perfection.

"We know how to make a car , we know how to make it reliable"...

REALLY?..... shame they know these things but don't put them into practice... would've helped a lot last year.

Do be quiet Sam... your a curse on any team you join... funny how Williams bounced back to better form after getting rid of you.

Its about cutting staff!
Rumours are that a number of race team staff have been told they are not travelling and are being replaced.
Theres nothing like having confidence in your workforce!

Every team on the grid makes mistakes, Red Bull made a mistake with Vettels qualifying, I think Ferrari made a mistake not pitting Alonso in Canada in response to a poor stop from McLaren. The response to errors however seems to be where McLaren fail to deliver, Red Bull responding to Vettel being sent to the back of the grid, compared to McLarens response in Spain kinda highlights this.

Last time Mclaren won a Constractors chapionship was back in 1991 with Senna/Berger.
Last tim a driver won the drivers championship was 2008 with Hamilton and we all remember how that was, (last race, last lap, last corner - In one word, lucky). So prior to that, last time a driver won the drivers championship on board a Mclaren was in 1999 with Mika Hakkinen.

So why do you think the poor result is? You have had the best drivers on the Padock!
Every year you come short

@Cabeto.

Last time McLaren won WCC was in 1998 and would have won it in 2007 also had it not been for that spy thing.

Get your facts straight before posting!

The last time Mercedes won a championship........

McLaren are in the business of racing. Mercedes AMG are in the business of selling road cars. One will always be at the mercy of its board members.

@Lykkis
Thanks for the correction, I meant to say 98, 99 was just a typo.

But my poit is, concistancy is not on Mclarens genes!

Just like you said bout Alonso being close to clinch the 2007 drivers title, so was Hamilton, only did not couse again "Mclaren" kept him on track, one lap too many n tyre blwe up. That was in China where he was leading by a country mile. Taht year he lost by 1 point.

So Mclaren the team of "almost got it, next year will try again" and they been like that for at least more than 20 years!
