rob and matt. sam answered your comment quite well. funny that even newey admitted that the bull was not the fastest, and autosport compared all the times and found that over the entire season, macca was in fact the fastest. still, what do the experts know?

Ask yourself this - why is Mark Webber operationg on probation this year? Why is Marko "lining up a replacement"? Because Red Bull want him to be the number two driver!

RBR are just as bad as Ferrri in that respect, but the difference is that Mark really doesn't want to be the No.2 driver, so Red Bull had to develop the car so that it only suited Seb!

bmfbw, irrespective to whom you are commenting, the simple fact is that the bull at the start of the season suited webber more. even webber has confirmed that. webber then went on to say that seb coped better with the change in the exhaust. the car was not built to suit one driver or the other, it is just that seb adapted to the changes better.

Yeah... Fair enough, there's me ignoring some of the facts! :P Still, Webber's on probation for "not co-operating with Seb as the team would have liked"...

whatever people say, I just wondering why Alonso always first in polling (by principal team, in f1 racing magz, autosport, and here) ?

Its bcoz people ignore it when Vettel is first and keep on repeating about a certain poll for years if the result suits them ignoring the results of the latest poll.

@mjgroves89, rob, etc
In 2012 WDC standings
Vettel RBR 1st
Webber RBR 6th
Either Webber is crap or the car is not fastest or 2nd fastest and Webber is not treated the way Ferrari treats Massa like giving up his positions to his teammate. Contrarily, Webber fights Vettel for position.

I haven't followed Moto GP for a while now, so don't know the ins and outs of who's doing what and how well, but as far as four wheels go I'd say that Alonso had his best season last year and deserves (for what it's worth) to get the nod here.

This may be controversial to some but I just can't see how you can compare Kimi to Alonso? I know Kimi is uber fast, brave and all the rest, but there have been times in his career when he just hasn't turned up (one reason why Ferrari fired him after a lack lustre 2009). Thing is with Alonso, whether you like him or not, he always turns up, rarely has an off day. That's why he's probably all the team owners number 1 right now.

He's also, I think, better in the wet than Kimi (remember Spa 2009, fighting with Hamilton, made a complete hash of things).

@gina - yep, apologies. It was 2008, the race where Hamilton & Kimi had a great duel, Hamilton went off, gave the place back, but re-took it too soon, was later penalised, then Kimi lost it and threw himself at the scenery!
