More JB bashing, I see...

In the right car, he is very capable.
2009 springs to mind - when the car was to his liking he got 6 wins, 5 poles and an additional podium in the first 7 races!

If that's not a sign of a good driver, what is?
The fact that he's mega in changeable conditions as well? :)

Absolute rubbish.

In the quickest car this year, he won only 3 races. In Australia, that was a good victory I admit. But in Belgium he had a different wing which gave him about half a second over anybody else and in Brazil he inherited the win.

Where as his team mate won 4 races and was cruising to victory in another 2 until his car broke down. LH also should've won in Brazil as well, until he got taken out.

The car and team was pretty much faultless in 2012 for JB at least, no excuse for him to have been so far behind Vettel and Alonso. If he's half a second or more of pole in Australia he'll simply say the car isn't quick enough.

2009: Lewis had an awful start to the year, but, even in Australia, was getting the absolute maximum out of the car every race. Button had the best car, for a while, and used it to his major advantage. However, the car soon went out of his narrow driving window...
2010: They were pretty evenly matched, but I think Hami did a better job overall, but Button proved the people who though Hami was going to devour him very wrong.
2011: Lewis shows signs of promise, but, overall, has a pretty bad year whilst his team-mate pulls off some great drives.
2012: Jenson shows signs of promise, but, overall, admittedly, has a pretty bad year whilst his team-mate pulls off some great drives.
2013: Hamilton will get the maximum out of that Mercedes, even if it (in all likeliness) is absolutely terrible by the end of the year. Button? I'm gonna hazard a guess that, with Perez having a similar driving style (smooth) that there will be little compromise in setting up the car to suit both drivers.

Then why didn't he do it last year?

In fact why didn't he even nearly do it last year?

If McLaren manage to secret a rocket onto their car I'm quite confident that Button will do it. Well actually...

Totally overated driver, flukey 2009 wdc due to the fastest car at the start of the season...look what happened when the other teams caught up.

If the car is good he will get podiums as usualmaybe a jammy win in mixed conditions, but in a dry fast race you will always be thinking " I wonder how fast that car can really go "
