F1 » Perez eyes 'same treatment' as Hamilton

Sergio Perez: McLaren is a team that knows how to handle young drivers. Just think about my predecessor in the cockpit - Lewis Hamilton...

Don't worry Perez. You will get more than share you expected in Mclaren. The McLaren is expecting for bag load of your Mexican Gold in 2014. They learned from Sauber.

by same treatment does he mean hated by most of the senior staff at Mclaren? and given less support than Jenson even when he's 50/60 points ahead?

I think he is ignoring the fact that Hamilton was 'groomed' by McLaren from an early age to fit in and be the kind of driver that they wanted him to be.

Let's also bear in mind that Hamilton was fast right off the bat and came very close to winning the championship in his first year. So if Perez wants the same treatment, which imo is impossible given that he is new to McLaren, then I think he'll have to bring the same kind of results on his own with the equal status he's been given.

So in other words he's looking to have retirements and the worst pitstops imaginable that will cost him the championship. All the while being paid the same/less than a teammate who spent most of the season at the back of the grid.

High aspirations there, Perez.

Is there a McLaren curse, because as soon as Perez was getting involved with the controll freaks from Woking his results took a nosedive. Not a good omen.
Or he couldnt cope with the pressure and the extra attention. Or he is afraid of being measured against Jenson Button, the man who beat Hamilton on points ?
Whatever it is, it doesnt look like he will be a serious championship contender so soon. Not with the mighty shadow of Jenson Button hanging like a dark cloud over him. Yes the very same Jenson who was voted driver of the year for the second year running and who will be giving his best yet again to beat Hamilton in 2013 as well.

Of course you are joking:
The reality of the situation is - that when JB qualifies his car, you add on half a second to his time to work out where Hamilton would've been.
Personally I'm looling forward to Perez out qualifying the 'Butt'.

Maca worked against Lewis, eh?

Wow. It is hard to quantify how little sense that makes. On any level. Breathtaking, really, in it's ignorance. Where to begin? What other stuff does a person like that believe in?

Just drive fast and skillfully, and the team will support you in the coming years, including an aging Button who will be less competitive with time.

I hope for great success from Perez and Hamilton - even a rivalry that will be good for the sport and hopefully keep those annoying people at Red Bull off the radio at the end of the race.
