F1 » German GP: Nurburgring deal 'done'


After weeks of confusion and indecision, the latest reports on Thursday say that the German GP deal is signed and the race will definitely be held at the Nurburgring in July.

Well I'm glad to see there will be a German GP.

But I do agree with Taz, the money talks are so expensive now that it is crippling everyone, not just the venues. We have already seen that with the amount of pay drivers being chosen this year.

It has to stop at some point, but when?

If I am not mistaken CVC has to charge what they do in order to repay their loans. Unless they default on their loans and declare bankruptcy or sell the rights we are stuck with the current fee structure. It does seem unsustainable so at some point it may all fall apart.

CVC made a huge profit last year. They are not struggling to make their payments by any stretch of the imagination! The real question is while Bernie and CVC gets their bag of money who will be let 'holding the bag' this time? Gross mismanagement by the track leasers and F1's exorbitant fees will likely be the end of the Nurburgring.
