@Bob, Get a grip of yourself. Why do you go on about how Button had more points over 3 years, that proves nothing. Lewis car broke twice in 2012 when he was in the lead, he was put to the back of the grid in barcelona with a 0.5 advantage and was wiped out by Hulk in Brazil while in the lead, not to mention the mess ups in the pits at the start of the season. After all this, he still bet Button in the points. Fact is, over 3 seasons, Lewis beat Button 2-1, that is how championship standings have always been done, year by year you fool.

That's another favourite for you fanboys too isn't it? Claiming that Hamilton lost 25 points in Brazil because he was taken out when he was in the lead.

Ummm...correct me if I'm wrong, but Hulk's rear wheel hit Hamilton's front wheel when they collided. So how is it that Hamilton was in the lead???

Not to mention that it was a dead cert that Button would soon overtake him as well, considering that it was starting to get wet and Hamilton is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike in the wet.

Knowing how good Hamilton is when it's wet, it more than likely he would have come in and put on slicks - he's excellent on tyre strategy calls!

You fanboys keep going on about points and how they don't matter and that it's only individual championships that matter.

Really? You mean the championships where Hamilton hasn't managed to finish any higher than 4th in the last 3 years? 4th!!! Remember, we're talking about the greatest driver in the history of everything here! 4th!

And yet, what is the highest finishing position for the average midfield driver Button? Oh, that's right 2nd! A finishing position twice as high as one that Hamilton has managed since being team mates. Twice as good!

Eat it fanboys!

@Bob you are just plain stupid. Way to twist the obvious with pointing out the only stat Button is better than Lewis. Yes Jenson is good driver but he is not at the level of Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel. And this is the view of the paddock too including drivers and team members but i guess you know it better.

We know the ans. The same driver (Seb Vettel) has won 3 wdcs in last 3 yrs and he has highest racewins in all those 3 yrs individually too.

It seems he is ON on more days or else he is stronger when he and someone else has their day.

Well, but the media have to keep filling the papers, so they have to call some losers as better than the champion and the idiots on this site follow the media print/s.

They build the car towards Vettel at Red Bull, towards Alonso at Ferrari. For the past three years McLaren have tried to accommodate two driving styles which are almost the polar opposite of each other. If Button can get the car set-up to his liking at a majority of circuits, the way he did at Spa where he was ahead in every session and won from pole, he'll be WDC again. At the end of last year the McLaren was clearly the fastest car.

And all this stuff about qualifying. Sure it's important but only if you can translate pole into victory. If you win the race it doesn't matter where you start and since the win ratio between Lewis & Jenson is 10-8 to Lewis over the three years Lewis's superior qualifying ability obviously hasn't translated to results, has it? And don't talk crap about Lewis' failures, etc. Jenson had his share of DNFs as well).

In 1988 Senna outqualified Prost by 14-2, so Prost had only two poles, yet he ended the season with more points than Senna (Senna won because of the old stupid 'best of 11' rule). Prost would have been champion today!
