Mark Webber has firmly shut the door on the criticism he received last month from Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, and got the firm backing of team principal Christian Horner on Sunday.

I think the same as Webbo :there is no other better place for him in F1 for the time being.
While I am a Vettel fan, I would salute a WDC for Mark, without any hesitation, should such a scenario come true eventually!
On the other hand, I can't ignore that, for such a goal, Mark only needs a realistic 100% support from the team. Not more.

Well he was leading Seb after Silverstone 2012, I think if we still had the bridgestones and this blown diffuser business didn't play such a big role then he would be as competitive as he was in 2010.

Honestly can't see Webber being close to Vettel at the end of the year for the points championship. Marko might be rough around the edges, but he is right, Webber will probably win a couple races here and there because the car flatters him, but for the most part this is his last year at RBR.

Damage control, nothing more. Helmut spoke his mind, Horner did what he needed to do in order to keep his #2 driver on the side of the team. Nothing new here. Mark knows the score. Until he beats Vettel the talk will not stop.

He's in the best place regardless of what Marko has to say, he has always been upfront about his preference for Vettel and how Webber is somehow not up to it . I guess this will be Webber's last year at the top unless he win's the championship so I hope he can have a relistic shot at the title without politics getting in the way.
