Robin Frijns is rumoured to be looking for a late deal in GP2 to keep his hand in while waiting for an opening at Sauber.

I would applaud him for putting his now stellar reputation on the line (2010 FBMW champion, 2011 FR 2.0 champion, 2012 WSBR champion) in an attempt to conquer GP2 but I also understand it poses a risk if he gets stuck with the wrong team and is unable to do well (enough). Even the biggest talent won't be winning in GP2 with one of the backmarker teams, despite the cars technically 'being equal'.

You see with a guy like Bottas that it's possible to shun GP2 and still make it to F1.

Still, I do personally think that every aspiring F1 driver should be willing to prove his talents in GP2 and not shy away from it. I'm sure that at least the new Dutch GP2 team would be willing to employ him but without experience that team will have a rough time this year in all likelihood.

You are right in your comment, but then every F1 team manager knows that succes in any series, if it is GP2, GP3, FR3.5 tec. will depend on the capacities of the team that the driver is racing with!
But a real good driver will be able to let a lesser team make progress due to the feed back given by him!
Look what progress GVDG managed last year with the CaterhamGP2 outfit!
